Educational Philosophy
“Because philosophy arises from awe, a philosopher is bound in his way to be a lover of myths and poetic fables. Poets and philosophers are alike in being big with wonder.” - Thomas Aquinas

I believe that the starting point for all learning and appreciation of knowledge is having a sense of awe and wonder.  My job as a teacher is to instill within each of my students this sense of curiosity as they approach the world’s great literature for themselves.  My desire is that they can value and understand  their own  life experience more while learning how to  critically think about the worldviews and experiences of others.  For that reason, being “big with wonder” is an essential part of one’s educational growth and development.

What's New?
English IV classes are working on their Senior Projects, as well as doing studies in Medieval and Modern World Literature.

AP classes are preparing for the AP exam in May 2018 through extensive essay writing in conjunction with a comprehensive exposure to world literature.  AP students follow an "A" day "B" day schedule.  These students also complete the Senior Project during the first semester.
